Show Me: Two kids kidnap another woman and yeah.. Well just yeah. It kept me entertained but not in an 'oh my god what happens next???' kind of way. One of those there's a moral to this story movies. I give it two stars out of five.
The Devil's Advocate: I'm sure everyone's already seen this but I just recently did. I'm not going to describe it except to say it could have ended long before it did. I give it three stars out of five.
You know, it's been so long since I updated this thing that I've seen many, many movies since and cannot possibly remember them all to critique here.

I don't know why I watch some of the shit I do, but here it is:
Sisters of Death - "There's nobody to hear your scream...except your killer! During an all-girl secret society initiation, one of the new members is killed playing Russian Roulette. Many years later, the survivors are invited to a reunion at a lavish estate, which turns out to be owned by the crazed father of the girl who died."
Dated 1978, I actually watched it. I found it in one of those cheap movie bins at the department store and thought "ah, hell" before throwing it in my cart. The best part of this movie was the intro. Yet it was one of those that somehow you get started on and find that you're staying up way past bedtime just to see the ending. In it's era, this movie may have actually been fairly decent, but these days... Yeah. Anyway, at least most of the women were (shocking!) gorgeous.
Because I watched the end of this when I was supposed to be sleeping I offer that it had some strange power over me. Due to this, I'm giving Sisters of Death three stars out of five.

The Devil's Rejects - Much better than the previous. But I hated the ending. It fit perfectly but it pissed me off. There's not alot I can say about this movie, you're going to have to see it. I do want to point out though that if you didn't like House of 1000 Corpses, don't let that dissuade you from seeing this one.
I give Devil's Rejects 4 out of 5 stars.

This will be brief because I've nothing fascinating.
House of 1000 Corpses - Baby Firefly makes the movie. Without her there would be nothing. Thing about this movie though is I don't think it's supposed to be good. I'm pretty certain it's not. In that respect, House really is pretty good. I love cheesy horror as I'm sure I've said before, this is the pinnacle in horror, gore, and cheesiness. I got what I expected and for not being disappointed, I give House of 1000 Corpses 3 stars out of 5.
The 40 Year Old Virgin - This movie is a comedy. Seriously, it is. Well no, it's not. It's a good, moral movie that all parents should insist their children see in attempt to prevent premarital sex. It had it's good points, but far too few to be labeled a 'comedy'. Worth seeing once, if you're bored. Really really bored.
40 Year Old Virgin gets 2 stars out of 5.

Exorcism of Emily Rose -
Well uh...
Was it good? Yes. Was it exceptional? No. What was the problem?
I wonder if all the hype about this movie set it up to fall short when I watched it. As I said, I did like this movie and it was "believable to a point" (quoted from the atheist sitting next to me) but I found myself constantly waiting for the "scary part" which never really came. No shock and awe in this one.
I recommend this movie. And that's about all there is to that.
I give The Exorcism of Emily Rose three and a half stars out of five. It kept me entertained, but I doubt it'll keep me awake.

Rydar stopped the movie before it even started to run to the store for munchies.
Anyway, here's how I'm killing time:
Greek Potato Salad
Unlike a traditional potato salad that uses russet potatoes, the Greek potato salad uses red potatoes. Also, instead of using mayonnaise, the Greek potato salad replaces the mayo with olive oil and feta cheese.
INGREDIENTS:
2 lbs medium red potatoes
2/3 cup olive oil
1/3 cup red wine vinegar
1/2 teaspoon oregano
1/2 teaspoon rosemary
1/2 lb. feta cheese, crumbled
1 sweet red bell pepper, seeded
1/2 cup green onions, chopped
1/2 cup black olives, drained & chopped
DIRECTIONS:
1. Start by washing and cutting the potatoes into bit-sized pieces, leaving the skins on.
2. Next, cook the potatoes in boiling water until tender. Part of the art of cooking this recipe is ensuring that the potatoes achieve the right level of tenderness. If the potatoes are not tender enough, the dish will suffer as the potato pieces will taste somewhat raw and be crunchy. If the potatoes are too tender, then when mixing the ingredients you'll find that you end up with a sort of oatmeal-like mush.
3. While the potatoes are being cooked, mix the oil, vinegar, oregano, and rosemary. After the potatoes are tender, drain them and move the potatoes to a mixing bowl.
4. Then pour on the oil/vinegar/spices mix and gently toss in the remaining ingredients. After all of the ingredients have been thoroughly (yet gently!) mixed, let the salad stand for at least thirty minutes before serving. This dish will keep well in the fridge for up to a week.
Spinach-Stuffed Tomatoes
INGREDIENTS:
10 ounces package frozen spinach
4 medium tomatoes -- firm
1 cup mozzarella cheese -- shredded
1/4 cup onions -- finely minced
1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
2 tablespoons parsley -- minced
DIRECTIONS:
Cook unopened spinach on high for 4 minutes. Let stand 5 minutes, drain well and squeeze dry. Put in large bowl. Slice and hollow out centers of tomatoes. Discard seeds. Chop pulp finely and add to spinach. Invert tomatoes shells on paper towels to drain. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Add 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese, onion, parmesan, salt & pepper to spinach mixture and blend well. Spoon evenly into shells. Sprinkle with remaining mozzarella and parsely. Arrange in 8-inch round glass or ceramic baking dish & cook at 350 degrees for 6 minutes or until heated through.

I broke down and bought it. Well not yet, Rydar bought it and I owe him for it but I haven't paid him back yet.
*ahem*
Rydar broke down and bought it and we're going to watch it tonight. I love on the back of the cover how it says "Frightening Scenes, Disturbing Content". Now Stigmata scared me, so I'm a little bit concerned.
I'll be in touch.

But I figured it had been long enough since I'd posted. I'm tired, cold, and bored. It's warmer outside than it is in my house and my heater's set at 74 degrees. We had alot of wind the past few days and it's plucking shingles off of my roof and launching them throughout my yard. I'm not very happy about that. I could always do homework, but I'm not in the mood. And I could always go back to bed but I woke up about a dozen times this morning when I insisted on going back to sleep. The dog's still in my bed, asleep. Lazy little bastard.
I watched part of Law & Order SVU after I woke up from falling asleep on wrestling last night. I hate Law & Order, I don't know why I insist on watching it, but I do. The plots are good enough most of the time, but the people drive me insane. I mean come on - Mariska Hargitay. What's with this woman? Eeew. She's hot if she doesn't move, speak, or show any facial expression. I seriously can't figure out what it is I don't like about her, but it's potent whatever it is. Give me Kat any day.
Christopher Meloni - one of the first episodes I've seen, or maybe just one of the first I've remembered, was almost an entire spiel of him with a shrink reliving his childhood. I'm sorry, I couldn't care less, I'm watching for the victims and their stories, not Mr. Stabler's imperfections (of which he has alot). This guy pales in comparison to Nick.
And Ice-T? Hahaha! Puh-leeze. Gag. No Warrick, for damn sure.
I could go on replacing Belzer, Florek, Neal, Tunie, and Wong with Grissom, Brass, Sarah, Dr. Robbins and Greg.
Maybe I'm exaggerating and biased, but it really leaves alot to be desired. I've yet to see anything that beats CSI Vegas though, so perhaps I'm comparing everything else to the incomparable.

or whatthefuckever it's called. Auto-save my ass. I typed out a huge post of all the songs I wanted for Rydar and it "auto-saved" and when my computer froze and I came back it's all gone. Jesus!

Skeleton Key -
About a chick that provides hospice care to an elderly man in the south. She discovers a hidden room in the attic which turns out to be a Hoodoo room. She plays with the magic for awhile, trusts the wrong people and you'll have to watch it to find out the ending.
The ending of this movie pissed me smooth the fuck right off. It was a good movie, worth seeing once - I've seen it twice - and Kate Hudson is really convincing (and I want her jewelry) so I give this movie 3 1/2 stars.
Hide and Seek -
About dementia and split personalities. This one's hard to describe as it gives away too much of the movie. So quit reading this and go watch the damn thing. Dakota Fanning is awesome.
I was a little disappointed with the way this movie played out. It had great potential and just didn't reach it. I give this movie 3 stars.
Red Eye -
Terrorists, a plane, and explosions. Perfect setting for a movie. Right?
Wrong. Another movie with awesome potential that falls short. Jayma Mays (Cynthia) is the best part of this movie. Just watch her mannerisms. I give her five stars - and the movie two. And that's being generous. Rydar and I fell asleep on it twice.
